Payment reminders
Sent 1, 7, 14 and 30 days after the due date, only for unpaid invoices that have the customer's email. Their replies come to you. You can turn reminders off for a single invoice when you open it.

Repeating charges
Charges that come back every week, month or year, found in your spending. Cancel what you don't use, or add the rest as bills.
Import from your bank
Download your transactions from your bank's website (look for "Download" or "Export" on the account page) as a CSV file, or as Quicken or QuickBooks (OFX, QFX, QBO), then choose it here. You'll check everything before it's added, can check it against your statement's balance, and importing the same file twice won't add anything twice.
Sorting rules
When an imported description contains these words, it goes in that category. Rules win over BuckLoad's own guesses.
Mileage log
Log business driving and BuckLoad works out the IRS mileage deduction. Don't also add gas for the same car as an expense; ask your tax preparer which way is better for you.

Which Schedule C line each category goes on
For sole owners and single-member LLCs, who file Schedule C with Form 1040. The packet has every line, the mileage deduction, sales tax by quarter, contractors who need a 1099-NEC and every expense with its line. It's what to give your tax preparer, not tax advice.
Profit & loss
The PDF covers the business and period you picked: gross sales, sales tax, fees, costs, expenses and net profit. Give it to your tax preparer. If your accountant uses QuickBooks or Xero, the last file is set up for their bank-statement import: one line a day for each way you got paid, its fees, and every expense.

Mileage
The mileage deduction isn't taken out of the net profit above. Your tax preparer uses it on your return instead of actual car costs.

Add something it owns or owes
Rough numbers are fine. Cash in the bank comes from Cash forecast, money owed from unpaid invoices, and stock from your product counts at what each one costs you. This isn't a full accountant's balance sheet; ask yours before giving it to a lender.

Tax deadlines
State and sales tax schedule
Pick each business's state, then the filing schedule your state assigned it. Pick "No seller's permit" for a business that doesn't collect sales tax.
Due dates that land on a weekend or holiday move to the next business day. Your state can assign a different schedule; if you get a notice with different dates, go by the notice and check IRS.gov or your state's tax website.

Fees come out of each sale automatically. Square's standard rates are 2.6% + 15¢ in person and 3.5% + 15¢ keyed in. Stripe is 2.9% + 30¢ for US cards. Change them if your plan is different. Tick Cash for money that goes in the drawer, so the cash drawer counts it.

Invoices
Turn it off for a business that never sends invoices, like a registration counter. Invoices and estimates then have to be made in one of your other businesses, so the money lands there. Ones already in this business stay, and you can move them.
Stock
Then enter how many you have of each product in Products. Every sale takes it down, and you're warned when something runs low. Products you leave empty (like services) aren't counted.
Overview
Extras for the numbers at the top of your Overview. They're off to keep it simple; these choices are just for your login.
Each number shows how it changed from the period before, or from the same dates last year.
Number of sales, average sale, profit margin, sales tax collected, payment fees, and refunds and discounts.

Choose which tabs you see, to keep the menu short. Turning a tab off doesn't delete anything, and you can turn it back on here any time.
Your businesses
A new business starts with the same tax rate and payment methods as the one you're in. Change them above after you switch to it.
Passcode
Anyone who switches to this business has to type the passcode first, on any device, including you and your employees. It locks again when you switch to another business or reload the page. This is a privacy screen for shared computers. Which businesses each employee can open at all is set in the Team tab.
